Stacey, I order your Yuki Pattern. How do I use the knitted pattern…..for felting roving fabric. Maybe I miss understood Simple Shoe Making ad.

    Thanks, Betty

    Hi Betty-
The Yuki pattern is a knitting pattern, so it includes directions for knitting a boot (using yarn) and felting the knitted product.
Can you explain what you mean by ‘felting roving fabric’? Simple Shoemaking provides a template for making boots from felt fabric, but this refers to fabric that has already been felted. If you are talking about needle felting (which uses roving), you will still need a fabric base, which could be pre-bought felt or knitted and felted.
Let me know if there is something more specific I can help with!

    Hi Stacey,
I somehow came across your blog from the felters email list, and have enjoyed visiting you very much. Thank you for the mini-sock pattern. I’ve been wanting to learn to knit socks, maybe this will be a great beginning !!!
Its fun reading everything, my brother lives in Silver Springs and works in the “city”. I live in Montana : )
Hoping you have a grand and creative year, Jean in Mt

    thank you! :)
Yes, the sock pattern is a wonderful intro into making socks… they don’t have to fit anything in particular, and not much time is lost if you need to rip half of the sock out!
    thanks for reading!
