Off to Boston… with some lobster?

Off to Boston… with some lobster?

Hi everyone! I'm going on a mini-vacation to Boston, so your burning amigurumi-related emails will have to wait until Monday for a reply! I'm planning on taking a peek at some yarn stores for the store spotlight, take some amigurumi travel photos, and maybe get some inspiration for a new lobster amigurumi pattern? Who knows! Enjoy your [...]

New camera!

New camera!

I use my camera a lot... in addition to taking photos while traveling, I take lots of amigurumi pictures! I take progress photos for all of my FreshStitches Patterns, I take all of the photos for the website and I love taking pictures of my various projects for Ravelry. So, when my camera started acting up... that was bad news! So, I went [...]

and the cause of the internet problems is…

a squirrel chewed through the cable line! Phew, I'm glad that's resolved! We had our cable line replaced, and hopefully... it will be smooth sailing from now on. With that crisis resolved, I want to take a moment to chat about squirrels. I absolutely adore squirrels (even if they are just rats with tails), and I'm often asked why I haven't [...]

Stacey’s relocated!

Stacey’s relocated!

I'm happy to announce that we've made it safely to New Haven, CT... in one piece, and with all of our belongings! The internet is set up, and most of our furnishings are in place. There's still a lot of boxes to unpack (as you can tell from the photo) and organizing to do... but my desk is in place, and I'm getting back to work!

Stacey’s Moving!

Stacey’s Moving!

It's approaching moving day! For those of you who haven't been keeping track, Tim (my sweetie) and I are moving to New Haven, CT. Although we don't officially move until Monday, I'm returning the cable box (including modem) later today- which means that I'll be without internet until we're settled back in! Our things are in boxes... along with [...]

My last Maryland Sit & Stitch

My last Maryland Sit & Stitch

Last night was my last Wednesday night Sit & Stitch at A Tangled Skein! I've been sitting and stitching every Wednesday night for two years... and since I'm moving on Monday, last night was my last one. I've been so lucky to sit & stitch with such a great group of women, and I'm going to miss them so much! When I first walked into A Tangled [...]

Stuffed animal retrieval & a new necklace!

Stuffed animal retrieval & a new necklace!

I've mentioned that I'm moving at the end of the month... and moving preparations are underway! One task I accomplished this weekend was retrieving some of my FreshStitches stuffed animals from ArtSpring. Since I won't be in the area, it will be more difficult to keep the store stocked, so I'll be selling most of my animals on my Etsy shop. (A [...]

A visit to MD Sheep & Wool!

A visit to MD Sheep & Wool!

What did I do this weekend? I went to the Maryland Sheep & Wool festival! It's one of the largest fiber festivals in the country, and since this is my last month in Maryland... I just had to go! I went with a few knitting friends, and we had loads of fun. Of course, there was lots of yarn, fiber, spinning equipment, needles, books & tools for [...]

Dishcloths and a trip to Connecticut

Dishcloths and a trip to Connecticut

I think I've mentioned that Tim and I are moving to New Haven, Connecticut this summer (yay, Tim and his new job!)... which means that we need to have a poke around the area. We're flying up for the weekend to look around the area, scouting out places to live (and places to knit!) We're very fortunate to have some friends living in New Haven [...]

Knit a heart for Valentine’s Day

Knit a heart for Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I wanted to share a really adorable Valentine's Day present idea: a knitted heart... an anatomical heart! This is a pattern by Kristen Ledgett that was published in Knitty 2008 for Valentine's Day, but it's so good, I thought it was worth revisiting. This year, I knitted a heart of my own. The pattern was a [...]
