The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. WIP Wednesday: Tie-dye socks!

Remember when dyed sock yarn using tie-dye? Well, I cast on for a pair of socks to see how it would turn out… but then set them aside.

I’m happy to report that I’ve finished the first sock and am now working on my second one!

I’ve decided to make the second sock in reverse of the first sock… so I’m starting (instead of ending) with the purple:

It’s just a crazy idea I had… I’ll see how it turns out!

I’ve become completely addicted to having a pair of socks to work on in those ‘in between’ moments, but I’ve got to get another ‘big’ project started!

That’s what I’ve been up to this week… how about you? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

If you want to check out more Work-In-Progress posts, please check out Tami’s Ami’s Blog, who’s been organizing a great WIP Wednesday blog theme! And, don’t forget to come back for FO (Finished Object) Friday!

Even though I rarely knit socks anymore (because the gauge hurts my hands – boo), I love love love a fraternal twin sock, not to mention rainbow, of course :-) They look great!!

Such pretty socks. I would do exactly the same with the colours. I’m strange like that

So cool to see that as a group we’re not overly committed to exact matches! I like “fraternal twin socks” from Ellen. I usually call them “complimentary”. I think we’re on to something!!

  8. Renee says:

I love those colours, can’t wait to see how they look as a pair!
