About FreshStitches

The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. A handful of adorable designs later- FreshStitches was born! Since then, FreshStitches patterns have become legendary for their cuteness, detailed instructions and step-by-step photos. Using the abundance of help and information in the patterns, numerous crocheters have crocheted a FreshStitches animal as their first crochet project! ...more

WIP Wednesday: Springtime on my mind

I can feel it… springtime is-a-comin’! Maybe that’s why everything I’ve touched this week has some exciting bright and spring-y colors in it!

Different Lines

Last week, I started the Different Lines shawl… and I got pretty far. I’m now 4″ into the 6″ border- then I’ll be finished!

I just love it! I’ve loved knitting it, and I can already tell that it’ll be awesome when I’m done!

Unfortunately, I probably won’t finish it by Friday… but stay tuned!

Cashmere Socks

Last weekend, I cast on for a pair of Cashmere socks:

Isn’t the yarn so pretty? Since then, I’ve knit a 7″ cuff and have turned the heel:

I love the way the colors pooled on the heel flap (it’s just a knit 1, slip 1 pattern). I like working on these socks because they’re so portable: I can just fill in little idle moments while I’m out!

Experimenting

I’ve had the urge to do a little experimenting, and I wanted to play with triangles:

Maybe it’s perfect for a triangle-shaped monster? Or a funky blanket? I haven’t figured it out yet, but am having fun!

That’s what I’ve been up to this week! Have you been up to anything exciting? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

If you want to check out more Work-In-Progress posts, please check out Tami’s Ami’s Blog, who’s been organizing a great WIP Wednesday blog theme! And, don’t forget to come back for FO (Finished Object) Friday!

Your shawl looks fabulously spring-y… like watermelon! (which I suppose is more summer, but still, a happy color combo:))

  9. The shawl is amazing – very spring and summer like. Makes me think of watermelon too!

  10. It wouldn’t have occurred to me to put pink and green together, but it’s coming out so beautifully. So glad other people have a better knack for colour combinations than me.
