About FreshStitches

The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. A handful of adorable designs later- FreshStitches was born! Since then, FreshStitches patterns have become legendary for their cuteness, detailed instructions and step-by-step photos. WIP Wednesday: Rainbow Socks

Happy 4th of July!

We’re still settling into our new place, so I haven’t gotten oodles of knitting/crocheting in… but I’ll share what I’m up to!

Color Affection

I’ve been making significant progress on my Color Affection, but unfortunately, it looks pretty much exactly the same as the last time you saw it. I’ll pop in a repeat-photo as a reminder:

I’m on the section with stripes in 3 different colors… the section is growing, but rather slowly! The rows are getting pretty long… although rumor has it that finishing the border section is the worst!

Rainbow Socks

Wanna see my super-pretty and mindless project?

It’s rainbow socks!

You see, I got 2 skeins of Felici yarn from Knit Picks… and the self-striping yarn works magic! Here it is in its lovely ball-form:

And here’s how they’re working up:

Since taking this photo, I’ve finished the first sock, and started on the second. It’s so entertaining, because the color changes every few rounds. Love it!

New Crochet Project…

Wanna hear about my new hairpin lace project? You’ll have to tune into my podcast… new episode is up today at 3pm EST! (I know, shameless plug!)

That’s what I’ve been up to this week… how about you? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

If you want to check out more Work-In-Progress posts, please check out Tami’s Ami’s Blog, who’s been organizing a great WIP Wednesday blog theme! And, don’t forget to come back for FO (Finished Object) Friday!

Hi Stacy! Will the self striping sock yarn work with amigurumi? I love the stripes, but not all of the color changes and ends to weave in.
    Thanks!
