About FreshStitches

The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. WIP Wednesday: more crocheting and metalworking!

Hey, guys! As you know, this weekend I went to the Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival… and it was super-busy!

Stuffed Animals

In between customers at the booth, I had a chance to start crocheting some animal pieces:

Can you tell what they’re going to be?

I also got started on making a mosquito for my Stuffed Animals class:

(I finished him in class… I’ll show you pictures on Friday!)

Metalworking

I’m on week 5 of my metalworking class! I got the chance to practice the soldering we learned last week. Here is my first soldered piece:

It’s just a scrap piece, but my teacher said it was perfect! Hooray!

Then, I soldered a heart onto my ring:

Perfect for Valentine’s Day, isn’t it?

Next week is my last week, so I’ll show you everything that I’ve finished next Friday!

That’s what I’ve been up to this week! Have you been up to anything exciting? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

If you want to check out more Work-In-Progress posts, please check out Tami’s Ami’s Blog, who’s been organizing a great WIP Wednesday blog theme! And, don’t forget to come back for FO (Finished Object) Friday!
