About FreshStitches

The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. A handful of adorable designs later- FreshStitches was born! Since then, FreshStitches patterns have become legendary for their cuteness, detailed instructions and step-by-step photos. WIP Wednesday: Cashmere socks almost done!

Happy Wednesday! Time to show off my works in progress!

My biggest WIP for the week…

Have you noticed that my blog looks a little bit different? Talk about a HUGE work-in-progress! I’ve changed my blog’s theme, and I’m gradually overhauling the blog, and combining it with my website. I’m excited about the changes… and I hope you like the look!

Cashmere socks

Last week, I had just turned the heel on my first cashmere sock… and I’m happy to report that I’ve finished the first sock, and am past the gusset on the second!

Aren’t they such fun colors? I’m using a really simple pattern (k1,p1 rib for the cuff, stockinette for the rest) so that it doesn’t interfere with the colors.

Kool Aid dyeing project

I’ve been wanting to make a shawl with some long-color-repeat yarn that I dyed myself… and I took the first step the other day. I took 500 yards of my white yarn and set the Kool Aid on it:

What do you think? I’m so excited about it! Now to pick a shawl pattern…

Crocheted Chick

I’m also busily crocheting chicks for a new pattern I’m about to release (inspired by the crochet-a-long). I’m working on a sample in blue:

I’ll definitely have this cutie to show you by Friday!

That’s what I’ve been up to this week! Have you been up to anything exciting? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

If you want to check out more Work-In-Progress posts, please check out Tami’s Ami’s Blog, who’s been organizing a great WIP Wednesday blog theme! And, don’t forget to come back for FO (Finished Object) Friday!
