This week I’ve been SO multicraftual! In addition to my usual knitting and crocheting, I’ve been working on my metalsmithing (I’m in week 4 of a 6 week class) and I’m making my first attempt at crocheting with wire! Here’s a peek at what I’m up to:
Pagona Shawl, week 2
You saw this guy last week, but I’ve put in another week of knitting!

The pattern seems a little tricky in the first few rows- there’s a lot of stitch markers to place- but once you get into it, it’s really enjoyable to knit. I’m over halfway done… I don’t think I’ll finish this Friday, but maybe by next week?
Metalsmithing, week 4
I’ve been continuing to work on my projects: two pendants and a ring. Here’s my current progress:

I’m pretty proud of how I’ve been doing… look at all that shaping and stuff! This week, I attempted some new skills, including cutting a SUPER-tiny heart:

and shaping a ring:

Next week, I get to try my hand at soldering… so excited!
Crochet wire necklace
This week, I’m trying my hand at crocheting with wire. I’m doing a necklace from Crochet Jewelry:

You put the beads on the wire first, then crochet the beads into the stitches. I’ve done all the crocheting… and I think it looks good! All I need to do is add the clasp (to actually make it a necklace), and I’ll show it off on Friday!
Crochet Chicken
Earlier in the week, I talked about designing a chicken. I already had the body finished, and now I’ve completed the trickiest part:

The comb! (I think that’s what it’s called.) I think it’ll really make this chicken extra chicken-y!
That’s what I’ve been up to this week! Have you been up to anything exciting? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

@Meredith-
Wow… their own wedding bands? That is so cool!
Wow, so many fun crafts! Metalsmithing looks awesome, it’s something I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. I’ll just have to live it vicariously through you until I get the chance!
Ooh soldering! That’s on my crafty bucket list.
I love your crocheted necklace! Crocheting with wire is so interesting.
That comb is instantly recognizable as “chicken-y”. Looks like it’ll be a super cute pattern!
