Knitting progress on Earth & Sky… in pink!

I’ve cast on for Stephen West’s Earth and Sky… a lovely intarsia shawl with geometric color blocks and garter stitch borders. It’s been on my list for a while, and I finally went for it!

Here’s how it started out:

And here’s how it looks after a week and a half:

I knew I wanted to do light pink, dark pink and grey… but I didn’t have enough of the pinks to do the size I wanted (I’m thinking of doing either the medium or large size). So, I threw in some turquoise and bright orange… fits in, don’t you think?

I’m absolutely loving this project… it’s interesting knitting, but I haven’t had to look at the pattern after the first repeat. Perfect!

That’s what I’ve been up to this week… how about you? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

If you want to check out more Work-In-Progress posts, please check out Tami’s Ami’s Blog, who’s been organizing a great WIP Wednesday blog theme! And, don’t forget to come back for FO (Finished Object) Friday!

This is really beautiful. The turquoise and orange make it very bold and beautiful. How difficult is this pattern? Just curious, I may have to add it to my To Do list. Keep us posted on how long it takes you. Thanks, Rae

Yes, it does fit in, beautifully! I’m going to take a closer look at this pattern. It would be so nice to make it for our prayer shawl ministry!
