I’m so stoked… there’s now a Ravelympics team especially for folks (like me) who want an excuse to design amigurumi! Squee!
Never heard of the Ravelympics? Fear not… I’ll fill you in! Then, you can join in with me!
What is Ravelympics?
Ravelympics is an event that runs during the Olympics, hosted on Ravelry. You sign up for a team (I’m on Team Ami by Design), and knit/crochet projects to enter into events (like toy toss or felted freestyle).
At the end of each day, awards are distributed (if you finished a project in your category). It’s not competitive (no one is judging ‘the best’ project), but it’s an amazing gathering of projects and a great source of inspiration!
Plus, it’s a fabulous chance to set some goals for yourself… like designing an amigurumi!
Join Team Ami by Design
Want to join us? It’s easy!
Simply reply to this thread on Ravelry to let us know you’re interested. Our team registration isn’t official yet (running an Olympics is complicated, I’m sure!), but you’ll get added as soon as it is.
The goal is to design one amigurumi to enter in the toy toss… but of course, you’re encouraged to design even more or make projects for other events.
Both knitting and crochet are welcome!
Are you in?
It’s going to be fun! I can’t wait!
