It’s 2013! Happy New Year!
I’m not usually the type to toot my own horn… but I’ll do it just this once.
I am one lucky duck. I’ve had an amazing 2012, and I’ve been lucky enough to have a fabulous week leading into this new year.
I spied a kangaroo:
And I’m fortunate enough to get to spend my holiday with family and some beautiful scenery:
(Seriously, this is a photo from my daily running route!)
I have no doubt that 2013 is going to be another amazing year… and I can’t wait to share my plans with you!
Monthly Photo Contest
The end of the year also means it’s the end of the month! So, let’s look at the winner of the FreshStitches Monthly Photo Contest!
And the winner is HaylzT (that’s Hayley’s Ravelry name) with her tiny Lark!
Isn’t this guy such a cutie? Hayley used a tiny hook and a thin yarn to make this super-cute (and tiny) Lark!
A cheer for our January Sponsors!
I want to send a huge hug to two fabulous companies that are sponsoring our lovely tutorial posts for the month of January! I’m in love with each of these companies (who make great goodies for crocheters), so let’s have a peek!
Mountain Street Arts
We crocheters spend oodles of time crocheting gifts… isn’t it worth adding a little something extra? How about a customized label?
Check out these personalized labels from Mountain Street Arts… aren’t they fabulous?
There are labels for both crocheters (who can resist a sock monkey?!?) and for knitters (I love the sheep one!), and so you’ll find a label style that’s perfect for you!
These labels are a perfect way to add a professional finished look to your projects… and your gift’s recipient will never forget who made it!
You’ll recognize Knitter’s Pride: they’re the makers of the beautiful crochet hooks I’ve been chatting about!
You may have noticed that this month’s Photo Contest winner made a super-tiny monster… maybe I’m going through a ‘tiny’ phase? Anyway, if you want to crochet tiny, you’ll need tiny crochet hooks. For super-small work, you’ll want to check out Knitter’s Pride’s Steel Hooks. They’ve got a soft handle, so you can crochet tiny without the hand cramp. Awesome-ness.
