January 2013 has been quite a month! I rang in the New Year in Australia, set some goals for 2013, taught an amazing series of workshops, flew home, recorded my final podcast episode and now it’s the end of the month! Phew… are you tired, yet?
FreshStitches fun!
There’s no better way to start the new year than with some amigurumi excitement! We’re happily crocheting slugs, thrilled about the new 2013 kits and loving our newest member of the family, Flavia the Unicorn!
If all that doesn’t kick your year off to a great start… I don’t know what will!
The slug-a-long is in full swing!
Our slug-a-long (that’s a crochet-a-long with a slug theme!) started in the middle of the month… and I’m totally blown away by the sheer quantity of adorable slugs I’m seeing!
The slug-a-long runs until the 13th of February, so there’s still time for you to join in! And check out the tag slugCAL to read helpful tutorials for crocheting your slug!
Even if you’re not joining in, you’ll want to pop over to Facebook to see the slug CAL photo album… so inspiring!
Upcoming Events
You know that I love teaching… so I’m very excited about a couple of events I have coming up!
Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival
The Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival runs from March 15-17th, and it’s always a barrel of fun! This year, I’ll have a table and will be teaching an intro to stuffed animals class! Even though it seems a far way off, you’ll want to book your spot in the class, now!
I have some big plans for the event… including the introduction of a brand-new kit and some show specials! I can’t wait!
Stitches South
I’m very excited to be teaching at Stitches South in Atlanta from April 11-14th. If you’re in the south, you’ll want to check out this event! I’ll be teaching not only an amigurumi class, but a crochet colorwork class and a course on pattern reading! Squee!
You can find a full description and the schedule for my classes, and I hope to see some of you there!
