About FreshStitches

The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. A handful of adorable designs later- FreshStitches was born! Since then, FreshStitches patterns have become legendary for their cuteness, detailed instructions and step-by-step photos. Using the abundance of help and information in the patterns, numerous crocheters have crocheted a FreshStitches animal as their first crochet project! ...more

FO Friday: Pogona, Wingspan and a monster!

Hey guys! I missed FO Friday last week because it was Design Week… so I have a lot of things to show you!

Platypus

Last week, I designed and crocheted a platypus for Design Week:

I love how he turned out!

Custom orders

I crocheted a couple of custom crochet orders for my Etsy shop: a tiny crab and a baby penguin:

Monster!

I designed this toothy monster for my How to Design Monsters Craftsy Class, but the photographer’s son fell in love with it and Mr. Red got a new home. But… I wanted one!

So, I’ve made myself another:

He’s so fun! He’ll keep me on task at work, right?

Pogona

I finished knitting my Pogona (by Stephen West) with the yarn that I dyed with Kool-aid:

It’s my second time knitting this pattern, and I just love it. It’s a relaxing knit, and the shape of the shawl sits really nicely when you wear it.

Wingspan

Yes, I’ve jumped on board the Wingspan bandwagon, and knit myself one with the yarn that I spun:

I used merino, so it’s super soft… unfortunately, I finished it just in time for the weather to turn warm! Maybe I’ll have to save the wearing until next year…

Thanks for stopping by and reading! If you want to see more great finished items… make sure to visit Tami’s Amis blog, the organizer of this great FO Friday theme!

I hope you have an awesome and craft-filled weekend!

  6. Wow, I love the Pogona and the Wingspan. Awesome that you were involved in the making of each of those yarns!

Is there a pattern available for toothy monster? It’s so cute! (And this isn’t a demand, I’m just honestly wondering!)

Your shawls are both fantastic, but that Wingspan is incredible. I’m such a sucker for rainbows, and that just looks perfect. Between that and the ridiculously cute platypus, your blog has immensely cheered my boring Friday afternoon, thank you!

  8. Love the platypus. He reminds me of Australia – they have the best animals : )
Your wingspan is amazing. Creating something for fibre to FO must feel awesome. Nice work!

  9. I am in love with that baby penguin! It is adorable and the monster just makes me smile so much. I’m currently working on a knitted monster and yours has given me a kick up the backside to get it finished.

I am intending to jump on the wingspan bandwagon soon. It’s so simple and interesting and I think it would look great in my spring coloured Zauberball.
