Beginner to amigurumi? I’ve got the class for you!

As you may know, I taught a ‘Design Your Own Monster‘ class on Craftsy: it’s a totally awesome class, but not geared towards newbies to amigurumi. It assumes that you have a handle on basic crochet and animal skills.

I got a lot of questions: When is there going to be a class for newbies? The answer: Now! Craftsy has just released my awesome class suitable for amigurumi newbies!

I introduce to you: Amigurumi: Woodland Animals! In this class, you’ll learn/review basic crochet stitches, walk through how to read a pattern and make 4 adorable animals- learning helpful tips and tricks along the way! If you’re not an amigurumi newbie, you’ll still learn lots of great tips… you might just want to skip the ‘crochet basics’ section!

Even if you’re not really into making stuffed animals, this is a great class for building your crochet skills. Amigurumi are small projects that allow you to practice a variety of stitches and techniques, learn to work in the round and best of all… they’re projects you’ll actually finish!

I really love the Craftsy online class platform: the class never expires, and you (the student) can ask questions and discuss topics with other students and me (the instructor). I check my Craftsy boards every day, and I’m thrilled with the great questions that come up- and even the new tips that I learn!

What are you waiting for? Click here for 50% off of the class price! (Check out how I’m hookin’ you up with the deals!)

Love this site! I’ve crocheted a few of your animals and given them as gifts … everyone loves them! I’m so inspired by the monsters, but gulp a little at the class price. Any plans to make the Design Your Own Monster class half off anytime soon? Or plans to make a monster book with all of these cuties? I can’t wait to make my own monsters!

    Hi Stacey!
I’m so happy! Thanks to your classes I just finished my first amigurumi pattern (my moody bird)!
    I posted in my website:

I’d love to learn how to do this, but I’m a lefty and classes are always done right handed. Do you by chance ever do video reversal/mirroring making it look like you’re left handed, so it helps us lefties to see and understand?

      Hi Leah-
That’s a great suggestion. The class was filmed in a limited amount of time, so it’s just the single view.
Does it work for you to watch the monitor in a mirror? That would reverse the image on your end…

I think I saw one of your posts on FB this week about a free class on Woodlands Amigurumi for Saturday only. I tried to get signed up for it at Craftsy but it was charging me 19.00 and I couldn’t find where to get the class free. Is it still available for free and how do I get it? I am very interested in learning the right techniques.

Absolutely, worth every penny. Stacey is a hoot and explains EVERYTHING!. Its like she’s in your house guiding your step by step through these amis. Best of all the classes dont expire , I still check them out when I run into a brain block.

The Woodland Animals class was great!! It gave me the instruction I needed to be able to make something other than a scarf or basic afghan. Now I am obsessed with making animals! Would definitely recommend!

The shop is on vacation for the summer! Come back in September for a full restock!
