About FreshStitches

The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. A handful of adorable designs later- FreshStitches was born! Since then, FreshStitches patterns have become legendary for their cuteness, detailed instructions and step-by-step photos. FO Friday: stuffed animals and pendants!

It’s another week of crocheted stuffed animals and metalworking!

Stuffed Animals

I crocheted a couple of animals for my visit to the Lion Brand Studio Store:

The elephant is crocheted from Wool Ease worsted and the alien is from Nature’s Choice Organic Cotton (yummy!). I also crocheted a fuchsia microbe- but I forgot to take a photo- so I’ll have to show you next week!

I also crocheted another custom owl:

This sweetie is going all the way to Queensland, Australia!

Metalworking

In my final class, I practiced more soldering and tried riveting for the first time. I finished the two pendants I’ve been working on for the duration of the class:

I’m pretty proud of my first metalworking attempts!

Thanks for stopping by and reading! If you want to see more great finished items… make sure to visit Tami’s Amis blog, the organizer of this great FO Friday theme!

I hope you have an awesome and craft-filled weekend!

love the snail pendant! in fact, I’m very impressed with all three metalwork FOs – you did really well for a beginner. Will you be doing more now this class is over?

  6. Adorable alien, but the others are definitely cute too! Must be hard to part with them!

  7. Stacey says:

@Tink- I’m not sure if metalworking is my thing. I knit and crochet because I like the feel of the yarn, and I don’t think I’ve gotten the same love of metal :)

  8. Kathleen says:

The alien is so cute, I adore the ruffled bottom. And oh my gosh, your snail pendant. Just lovely, the hammered texture of the shell is beautiful and the whole piece is just too sweet.

  9. Cheryl says:

  13. Stacey says:

@DaisyMae- The alien pattern is available in my book, Crocheted Softies! Sorry, he’s not available for individual sale (although, I’ve heard rumor he might be sometime in the future… I’ll post if that happens!)
