Crochet Coral Reef in Sydney

I was headed to my class in Sydney the other day… and imagine my surprise when I spotted this beautiful display in the lobby of the building!

It’s a crochet coral reef! Isn’t it fabulous?

The exhibit is made of pieces donated from crocheters all around Australia (I think I even spotted some knitted bits, too!) and is put together to raise awareness of the diminishing health of the Great Barrier Reef. Fabulous!

And… my class went wonderfully, too! It was a design class, and I was so excited to see all the great ideas the students had!

This is amazing and breathtaking! I don’t know if you know about The Crochet Crowd on Facebook and their website but they did something like this last year. Crocheters from all around the world donated crocheted sea animals for an exhibit! It was a really beautiful underwater creation.

I was so sorry to miss your workshop Stacey. I just wasn’t well enough to cope with the trip down by train and return, plus several hours trying to concentrate. I hope you had fun doing the workshop. And I hope your trip back home was fast and enjoyable. Joyce :)
