Happy Monday! Whether today is Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, or just another day… there’s lots going on this week!
New York Sheep and Wool Festival
There’s chatter about this event from crocheters and knitters up and down the East Coast of the US! Held in Rhinebeck, NY (and often called just ‘Rhinebeck’), the festival is held this weekend: October 15th-16th.

It’s a great place to shop for yarn, pet some sheep, attend book signings and eat yummy food. For a discount, purchase your tickets in advance online.
Free Amigurumi Pumpkin Pattern
Halloween is just around the corner, so it’s time to get crocheting! I spotted this adorable tiny Jack pumpkin pattern from Crafty is Cool.
Isn’t he cute? And, he’s so small that you’ll have time to make a whole patch of pumpkins before Halloween!
T-shirt Yarn tutorial
I’ve been loving this great t-shirt yarn tutorial. The instructions are simple and easy to follow, and the result is yards of t-shirt yarn from old t-shirts!
What do you do with t-shirt yarn? I crocheted a rainbow trivet, and I’m working on crocheting a bigger rug. I’ve also seen awesome necklaces made from t-shirt yarn… I guess your only limit is your imagination!
New Technique for Joining Medallions

So, we’ve all crocheted granny squares or some other form of medallion, and then wondered, ‘what’s the best way to sew these together?’. I just spotted this awesome technique for invisibly seaming crocheted/knitted squares together!
For this super-awesome technique, Do you mind if I knit has won the Shiny Hook Award! The tutorial contains clear instructions and step-by-step photos… so you’ll want to give it a try!

I would LOVE to attend Rhinebeck but again will have to stay home, like Cinderella, ha,ha. LOVE., LOVE, LOVE the joining technique!
@Nancy- I’m going, but can only spend 2 hours… don’t know if it’s better to not know what’s there, or to get to see it, but have to leave so soon! :)
Say Hi to Rhinebeck for me; so sad I’m not going this year, but Boston was worth the exchange… and I second the nom for this joining technique – LOVE her stuff :)
