About FreshStitches

The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. A handful of adorable designs later- FreshStitches was born! Since then, FreshStitches patterns have become legendary for their cuteness, detailed instructions and step-by-step photos. Using the abundance of help and information in the patterns, numerous crocheters have crocheted a FreshStitches animal as their first crochet project! ...more

Bitten by the Color Affection bug…

If you’ve been online or wandered into a yarn shop recently, you probably know all about Color Affection by Veera Valimaki.

I absolutely adore Veera’s patterns: I’ve knit 3 Stripe Study Shawls, Different Lines and 2 Still Light tunics. (Does that make me a groupie?)

But, I’ve been slow to cast on for Color Affection because I can’t decide on which 3 colors to use!

Please Vote!

I desperately want to cast on, and I’ve narrowed it down to three color combos. Let me know your fave in the comments section… and hopefully I can make a decision, soon!

Option 1

A beautiful light ash grey and a deep charcoal with a fabulously bright lime green by Candy Skein squooshed in between.

Option 2

Delicious cream and oatmeal, paired with a dazzling blue skein of Candy Skein.

Option 3

White, grey and black. Simple.

Which would you choose?

Tell me your vote! I think all three would be gorgeous, but I just can’t pick!

Option 1. We all need more green in our lives!

  2. Seekker says:

I prefer option number 3 – Simplicitiy … simply because this combination will go with anything / everything.

  3. Hollie says:

I definitely vote for Lime Love! :)

  4. Ellen says:

Option 2… Option 1 is a close second, but I think that the two greys are a bit too similar :-)

    • Stacey says:

I think the similarity of the greys in Option 1 is a monitor/photography issue… in real life, it’s a light grey and a dark charcoal :)

  5. Katie says:

Lime love! It just looks so refreshing!

  6. I love my Color Affection shawl. I am drawn to the middle combination but I think you would get more wear out of the Simplicity combination. I know I’m probably going to make another one of these. I saw a Kidsilk Haze version that sent my antenna quivering, so that might be my next version.

  7. Su says:

    Option 1

  8. Hev says:

I am not a normal “green” woman, but I think Option 1 would really pop. That is my suggestion.Otherwise I would pick Option 3 due to the ability to wear it with anything.

  9. Jean in NH says:

Number 2 – that blue just sings to me!

  10. Judy says:

I like option 1, it’s so pretty and the pop of green is exciting.
I am a new reader of your blog, thank you for so many helpful tips and ideas. I have been poking around and one post leads to another and another…

Well, first I love all the other projects you’ve done before. My favorite being the orange and grey stripe…so awesome! I vote for the first set with the green and grey. I love that it is both soft and bright! This looks like an amazing pattern too…I’m kind of wishing it was crochet!

  16. Debbie H says:

Lime love! Although if it was me I would substitute one of the greyy yarns for black. It would be stunning!

  17. Pumpkin says:

I love, love, love that pattern. I need to knit my own at some point, until then, I’ll live vicariously through you. I’m partial to option 2, although, I don’t think that you could go wrong with any of them. Great combinations!

Option 2 – that blue is beautiful!

  23. Nancy T says:

I like the lime love… it reminds me of the weather outside lately… dreary grey rainy days, but then the green trees really pop out with bright green color!

  24. Julie P. says:

I like option 2 just because I love the blue and also because this time of year makes me think of those colors.

  25. MissH says:

Don’t Call Me Blue. I love the crispness of the blue with the oatmeal and cream, altho any of those combos would be stunning!

  26. Simplicity because you’ll be able to wear it with more outfits. More versatile!!! =)
