Batch of spinning completed!

handspun

During the last snow storm, I wrote about my progress on spinning some lovely roving from Spin Span Spun. Well, I’ve finished!

I can’t say enough about this roving… it is so soft and the colors are just lovely. I spun it to about a dk-weight, and my plan is to use it as a single-ply. I don’t really think I balanced the yarn perfectly to use it as a single-ply, but I’m happy to experiment!

So, what am I going to knit with it? I like the look of designs like the Noro Striped Scarf by Jared Flood, which uses a yarn with a long colorway in stripes. I’m planning on knitting a hat that alternates this handspun with a complementary plain yarn… we’ll see how that turns out. I’ll keep you posted!
