The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. Ready for Halloween? Meet Igor… the tiny bat!

Aaaahhhh!

… are you spooked? Or just fainting from how ‘scary’ cute this guy is!?!

Meet Igor!

This tiny (4″ tall) bat is the newest addition to the FreshStitches animal family! I couldn’t resist designing a new pattern to get everyone into the Halloween spirit!

I know his wings look an eensy bit complicated… but can you believe that this bat is made up of only single crochet, increasing and decreasing? He’s an easy-level pattern! And with the step-by-step photos included in the pattern… I promise you won’t get lost (well, at least I don’t think you will. How’s this: I’ll help you out in the rare event that you do get lost)!

Get started on your bat!

Love him? Well, then… go ahead and grab the pattern to make Igor!

Hollie crocheted hers in orange and black:

And Adriana went for a green and purple combo:

Isn’t it great to know that you just can’t go wrong?

A look at upcoming events…

What’s coming up for the month of October? A Halloween-themed Crochet-a-Long, of course!

You’ll want to stay tuned to the blog for details… but it goes without saying that Igor will be a popular pattern!

All of the bat’s are beautiful of color and sooo cute. I would like to try some projects using Ella Rae Classic yarn, I’ve never tried this yarn and it looks and seems wonderful.
