Almost finished my Spectra!

Uh oh. Have a look:

Do you see how tiny that ball of blue yarn is?

I’ve been knitting my Spectra, and I began with a mystery ball of blue fingering weight yarn for the main color. I sorta knew it wasn’t the full 440 yards…

So, anyway… my Spectra will be completed slightly ahead of schedule. I’ll probably get to 60 wedges instead of the recommended 84. But, no worries. It wraps around my neck and looks pretty… no one will know it’s shorter than Stephen West’s!

This week, I’m reading Dog Days: A Year in the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, partially inspired by my recent visit to the Henry Ford Museum (which features a real Weinermobile).

And you thought my job was strange? It’s nothin’ compared to driving a Weinermobile!

That’s what I’ve been up to this week… how about you? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

If you want to check out more Work-In-Progress posts, please check out Tami’s Ami’s Blog, who’s been organizing a great WIP Wednesday blog theme! And, don’t forget to come back for FO (Finished Object) Friday!

I always feel so nervous when I see that my yarn is running out faster than it should. At least it’s long enough to still be functional.

    neat neat neat!

I’ve not done much with color changing (yes, I’m a lazy knitter)…but I just finished my first pair of thrummed mittens for myself. My daughter wants a pair now! I used a dyed robins-egg-blue alpaca thrum, with a purple-heather wool…worked up lovely, and cold enough in the northeast today to wear to work later this afternoon!

My Spectra came out shorter too: 76 wedges. But I’m quite a bit shorter than Stephen W so I figure it’s fine.
