Do you know what my most popular pattern is? That’s right… it’s Nelson the Owl. Rounding out the top 10 is Russ the Chick in an egg- a chick that turns inside-out to reveal a chick!
An Idea is born
Then, one day it hit me… why not combine the two? The cuteness of an owl with the cleverness of the ‘in the egg’ concept?
I started scheming… I knew I wanted:
- the pattern to be an easy-level crochet project
- to use crocheted eyes (the fasten-on eyes have a post that needs to be snipped off, any many crocheting the chick-in-an-egg opted out of that trouble)
- the owl to be super-cute and owl-y
So, I set to work designing and crocheting… and an owl was born!
