A holiday treat: knitting Spectra!

Ah. With Christmas crafting finished, I’ve been treating myself to some knitting just for me.

I’ve had the pattern for Spectra by Stephen West for a while… and I’m so excited to be knitting it!

It’s my favorite kind of pattern: simple to memorize, but kept exciting by some short-rows and color changes.

Yarn: Stonehedge Fiber Mill’s Crazy Skein (self-striping) & a mystery skein of blue fingering weight yarn. (I chatted about my scheming of yarn choices in this blog post)

I love how it’s coming along!

As you can see, I have 2 more color changes to go. We’ll be headed out to the country for a couple of days, so I’ll see how much I’ll get done!

That’s what I’ve been up to this week… how about you? I hope you have an awesome Wednesday, and get some great knitting/crocheting done this week!

If you want to check out more Work-In-Progress posts, please check out Tami’s Ami’s Blog, who’s been organizing a great WIP Wednesday blog theme! And, don’t forget to come back for FO (Finished Object) Friday!

Love the look of your shawl, Stacey. But just had to tell you about one of my Christmas gifts. My niece, Samantha, gave me Crocheted Softies!! Yea!!!!!! I’ve wanted it for a long time, but would not buy it for fear I’d start a project from it before I finished making all my Christmas gifts. So,I was very excited when I opened that up. My great-niece, 8, wants me to teach her crochet and knit…..but alas she has NO patience….she can barely sit and focus on me making one stitch, before she says ” But Aunt Rae, I don’t want to do this! (Make a chain stitch) I want to make this! (The giraffe in your book. … Or whatever else has caught her fancy.) Now her brother, 7, also wants to learn to crochet, and yesterday even though he’d received some super toys, I saw him several time with the yarn and hook I’d given him, and making chain after chain. BTW, everyone LOVED the stuffies I made for them, young and old. Thank you so much for what you do! Hope your holiday stays awesome.
