About FreshStitches

The idea for FreshStitches began in 2008 when crochet designer, Stacey Trock, noticed a distinct lack of patterns for big and cuddly stuffed animals. 3KCBWDAY1: I love color!

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to be taking part in Knitting and Crochet Blog Week, hosted by Eskimimi Makes! It’s an annual event, and she’s a total genius for organizing this thing and coming up with fabulous topics.

I couldn’t be more excited about today’s topic: talking about color! I’m a nut about color! When I was a kid, I daydreamed about painting my room in super-bright colored patches… but I settled for bright blue. My favorite colorway to work in is a beautiful rainbow: (click on any picture to zip to the project’s Ravelry page with more info)

Seeing double? It’s not a typo… I really made 2 rainbow Wingspan shawls! One from handspun and one from leftover sock yarn!

I love bright colors, and when I’m not knitting or crocheting a rainbow, I’m usually knitting one of my fave 3 colors: turquoise (my absolute favorite), lime green or hot pink.

What about you? What are your favorite colors to use?

Check out the other blog week posts… and I hope you’re ready for an awesome week!

  6. Oooh, these are all really fun. I am so inspired by your use of rainbow colors in a project. I never think to do this for wearables, but I might have to follow your lead!

We have been getting so many wonderful rainbows where I live. Lots of rain and lots of sun makes for beautiful rainbows.
